At Erhart-Stechschulte Insurance Agency, we believe that insurance should be personal — because life is. We’re a locally owned, independent insurance agency based in Kalida, Ohio, proudly serving our neighbors in Ottawa, Cloverdale, Columbus Grove, and surrounding communities.

Our History

Our agency has deep roots in the region and a legacy of service that spans generations. What started as a small-town agency has grown into a trusted resource for families, farmers, and small businesses throughout northwest Ohio. And while the insurance world keeps changing, our commitment to doing right by our clients never has.

Meet the Team

Erin Hoffman 

Licensed Agent – Life, Property & Casualty (OH & MI)

Erin joined our agency in 2007 and brings both deep industry knowledge and a true passion for helping people protect what matters most. A Kalida High School graduate and a University of Northwestern Ohio alum (Paralegal program), Erin knows this town inside and out.


She and her husband Jason raise their four kids — Tyler, Kennedy, Camryn, and Ella — right here in Kalida. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her at the lake, logging miles on a run, or cruising in her Camaro. Erin also serves as Vice President of the Kalida Area Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Kalida Park Playground Committee. She offers Notary Public services through the agency as well.

Craig Schmenk

Co-Owner & Licensed Agent

Craig is a proud graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School and The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. As a co-owner of Everett Schmenk Insurance (Ottawa), Erhart-Stechschulte Insurance (Kalida), and Grove Insurance Services (Columbus Grove), Craig brings leadership and commitment to each of the communities he serves.


A lifelong supporter of local schools and organizations, Craig currently serves on the Kalida Local School Board and is active in the Kalida Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife Linda live in Kalida, and are parents to four children. Craig stays involved through St. Michael’s Church, the Kalida Athletic Boosters, Kalida Lions Club, and several community organizations including the Kalida Fish & Game Club and the Glandorf Rod & Gun Club.
